The Kaiteriteri Mountain Bike Park is bliss for beginners. It is also good for experts, who just enjoy a special cycling trip. Kaiteriteri with the Kaiteriteri Mountain Bike Park is situated 60 kms from Nelson and 13 kms from Motueka. It is famous for its safe, golden sand beaches and perfect climate. It is a popular holiday destination for New Zealanders and other tourists. Especially after Christmas it is a busy spot.
- Traditional recreational activities have centered on sunbathing, swimming, kayaking and boating.
- from here you can start a boat cruise or sailing trip into the Abel Tasman National Park. The golden sand and the crystal clear blue water are loved by everyone.
- The Kaiteriteri Mountain Bike park is mostly situated in dense native bush and the majority of the newly-benched trails are wide, easy to intermediate-grade tracks, complemented by narrower hand-benched single-tracks. Most l tracks can be ridden both ways, excluding those that go steeply up.
Entrance to the Park is signposted off Martin Farm Road which is one minute ride from the centre of Kaiteriteri. Parking is available at the beach carpark close to the Kaiteriteri Mountain Bike Park. Maps are available at the Kaiteriteri Beach Camp Office, Nelson & Tasman bike shops and various local retailers for a gold coin donation. All tracks are two-way and open to foot traffic unless signs indicate otherwise.
Maintenance work is regularly carried out at the Park to ensure all trails are open and in good condition year-round. Work is also undertaken on some pre-existing firebreaks to extend the riding options for advanced and expert riders.
Kaiteriteri is the end-point of the Tasman Great Taste Trail, which provides wholly off-road cycling from Nelson.
